What are some other benefits of the Family Literacy Program?
What is Ready Rosie? What is Bringing Up? Has my local school district purchased them?
Ready Rosie is a web-based video series showcasing activities to help prepare children for kindergarten. Bringing Up is a web-based video series showcasing activities for school-age children ages 5-8. Both series send one video several times per week to parents via email and/or text. Each video, which is only about 2 minutes long, demonstrates a parent engaging in an important literacy activity with their child.
Due to the expense, most school districts in our area have not purchased these video series for their students’ families. As part of the ALA Family Literacy program, you will have access to these series at no cost to you.
